Group A Preliminary Games

6:15 AM ET: Denmark vs France

Montreal Canadiens fans will recognize the name of Tim Bozon who continues his comeback after an illness while he was still in the Habs organization. He is still a part of the French National program. Lars Eller leads a Denmark team that is coming off hosting the tournament a year ago.

The game will be shown on TSN 3 and RDS in Canada and NHL Network in the US.

10:15 AM ET: Germany vs Great Britain

Germany’s roster is led by Leon Draisaitl and four members of the German champions from Adler Mannheim including draft eligible defenceman Moritz Seider and former Canadien Markus Eisenschmid. Great Britain is in the top division for the first time since 1994 and their entire roster plays in the British league except for Arizona Coyotes prospect Liam Kirk, who plays in the OHL.

The game will be shown on TSN 1 in Canada and NHL Network in the US.

2:15 PM ET: Finland vs Slovakia

Tomas Tatar had a goal in Slovakia’s surprising 4-1 win against the United States and the hosts look to keep their momentum going. The Slovaks were full value in their win, outshooting the vaunted Americans 36-26. Finland defeated Canada 3-1 on Friday as Kaapo Kakko had two goals, including the empty netter.

The game will be shown on TSN 1 and RDS in Canada and NHL Network in the USA.

Group B Preliminary Games

6:15 AM ET: Switzerland vs Italy

Roman Josi and Nico Hischier lead Switzerland’s group into their opening game of the 2019 tournament. As of Friday night, the Swiss only had 15 skaters on the roster and will likely add more by the time the game starts. Their roster includes NHL experience in Reto Berra and Yannick Weber and everybody’s favourite coach Christian Wolhwend is an assistant. The most familiar name on the Italian roster is Angelo Miceli. Miceli was born in Montreal and starred at the Canadiens rookie camp before getting an AHL contract in 2015-16. He now plays in the Italian league.

The game will be on TSN 1 in Canada.

10:15 AM ET: Latvia vs Austria

Bob Hartley leads Latvia into action with a team with some familiar names. Former Lightning goaltender Kristers Gudlevskis is on the roster as is Rudolphs Balcers from the Ottawa Senators and Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Martins Dzierkals. Austria does not have Thomas Vanek but they do have Michael Raffl who is their lone NHL player on the roster.

The game will be on TSN 3 in Canada.

2:15 PM ET: Norway vs Czech Republic

The Czech Republic had a huge 5-2 win over Sweden on Friday to open their tournament with a big win against the defending champions. Jakub Vrana had two goals and the Czechs had three third period goals to come away with the win. Norway scored two late third period goals in a 5-2 loss to Russia. They actually kept the shots 27-27 in the game. Henrik Haukeland made 22 saves in the losing effort.

The game will be on TSN 3 in Canada.
