After going the last homestand without a win, the Canadiens can wrap up a mini one with a sweep should they get another victory tonight. The Colorado Avalanche aren’t going to make that an easy feat, as they themselves are looking to win five in a row.

Tonight will see the NHL debut of Cayden Primeau, taking the crease to face the best offence in the NHL. It’s as tough a deployment as a netminder could face in the league this season — perhaps an unnecessary one with the New York Rangers on the docket tomorrow night — but there is a chance for the rookie to show off the talents that make him one of the top prospects in the organization.

He won’t be alone in making that debut. Otto Leskinen, who had been playing in front of Primeau in the AHL before his recall, will also dress in his first game in the top league after a few seasons in Liiga. On a rotating cast of blue-liners used to fill out the left-side spots, the Finn is the latest Laval Rocket player to get his shot.
