In the second period of the game between the Montreal Canadiens and Carolina Hurricanes, Brendan Gallagher was knocked to the ice near his own blue line after playing the puck. Unfortunately, before he landed he was run into by the knee of Ben Chiarot. Gallagher stayed on the ice for a minute before he was able to skate off under his own power, but he did not return to action.
Brendan Gallagher ne sera pas de retour dans le match. Blessure au haut du corps.

Brendan Gallagher will not return. Upper body injury. #GoHabsGo
Gallagher is too important to lose for a long period of time, so hopefully his injury won’t keep him out of the lineup for too long. Already down a few forwards, his loss could be very tough to deal with.
The Canadiens are back in action on Thursday in a rematch with the Tampa Bay Lightning. They could very much use Gallagher’s style of play to help make up for a difficult loss on December 28.
