In the second period of Monday’s game versus the Winnipeg Jets, forward Joel Armia left for the Montreal Canadiens’ locker room after taking a stick to the hand. The team announced at the beginning of the third that he would not return.

Joel Armia will not return tonight (upper body injury).#GoHabsGo
Hopefully his removal was just for precautionary reasons, as the forward has been one of Montreal’s top forwards all season long, ranking third on the team with 12 goals and proving a force to be reckoned with in possession of the puck. He would be sorely missed on the post-holiday trip to Florida.
