Matthew Peca, one of the replacements the Montreal Canadiens brought up while dealing with a few injuries in the forward corps, was himself injured on Tuesday night versus the Pittsburgh Penguins. Down to 11 forwards with another game on the schedule for Wednesday, they’ve added Ryan Poehling to take his place.
The Canadiens have recalled forward Ryan Poehling and defenseman Christian Folin (assigned for conditioning purposes on November 27) from the AHL’s Laval Rocket, and placed forward Jesperi Kotkaniemi on injured reserve.#GoHabsGo https://t.co/HuYujqWZ3p

Poehling has points in four of his last five games with the Rocket and seems to have found his game. His last two games have been on the left wing of Jake Evans, and that is likely the role he will be playing now that he has been recalled. He has five goals and seven assists in 26 AHL games.
He is pointless in the NHL this season, playing four games.
The team also recalled Christian Folin from his conditioning stint. He played seven games with the Rocket. He did not have any points.
At the NHL level, the organization is now dealing with injuries to Peca, Jonathan Drouin, Paul Byron, Jesperi Kotkaniemi, and Victor Mete. It shouldn’t be long before some of those players begin returning to the lineup, allowing some of these recent recalls to return to the Laval Rocket.
