The Canadiens have put together back-to-back victories; comfortable results with a margin of three goals in each. A third-period explosion versus the Leafs put them back in the win column, and quick goals to start each period kept morale high in last night’s 4-1 defeat of the Arizona Coyotes.

To run the streak to three, Montreal will have to knock off the Vegas Golden Knights this evening, which will be no mean feat in the latter half of a back-to-back set.

Despite being among the NHL’s top teams since joining the league two seasons ago, the Canadiens have a 3-1 record versus the Western Conference club, and have split their first two decisions at T-Mobile Arena. The meeting on December 22, 2018 went in Montreal’s favour, with a 4-3 overtime win to send them into the Christmas break.

Keith Kinkaid gets the call in net on Halloween night, as he should with Carey Price having played the night before. With the team perhaps slightly fatigued from playing less than 24 hours earlier, he will be called upon for a few key saves. If his performance versus the Minnesota Wild on the weekend was any indication, he’s going to throw everything he has in front of the puck.
