Jonathan Drouin was determined to create a scoring chance, and his work along the boards left Artturi Lehkonen with the puck in front. Lehkonen’s initial shot didn’t find the net, but Jesperi Kotkaniemi simply waited for Petr Mrazek to slide out of the way before depositing the first goal of his sophomore year.
