The Habs bounced back from their home-opener loss with a big win over St. Louis.

For our new readers and members, the Top Six Minutes is a continuation of the discussion in the game thread. We try to keep it light and entertaining. Full recaps are up the morning after every game.

Pre-Game:

  • I want Montreal to win, obviously, but I also have O’Reilly on my fantasy team so...jk - get ‘em Habbies
  • Bit of a change-up to lines heading into this one - let’s see if it pays off

1st Period

  • Early penalty on Chiarot - hopefully not setting the tone for the rest of the game
  • Lehkonen with some solid PK time and a few great short-handed chances - when was the last time I mentioned how much I adore Lehks? Get ready for another season of it, folks
  • Habs heading to the PP and does anyone else still have 2018-19 night terrors or is it just me
  • Tommy Tatar gets the Habs on the board!
  • Habs have been dominating zone time so far this period and the Blues finally got their second shot on goal about 14 mins into the first. I am ok with all of this
  • Blues tie it up
  • Drouin having himself a hell of a start to this season and I. Am. Here. For. It. Habs up 2-1 heading into the second

2nd Period

  • Blues get a quick one to start the period and of course it’s by Blais because what’s a home game without an opposing French Canadian scoring on the Habs
  • I believe in you, Victor Mete. You can do this.
  • Never break Tatar-Danault-Gallagher up
  • Frick. Blues score on the PP and take the lead 3-2
  • Ahem, I reiterate: Never break Tatar-Danault-Gallagher up - TIE GAME
  • Weber with a huge open ice hit
  • Tied at three after 40

3rd Period

  • Let’s gooooo
  • Gally hits the post
  • Meanwhile, Cole Caufield is dominating tonight with another pair of goals for Wisconsin
  • ARTTURI LEHKONEN PUTS THE HABS AHEAD SWEET BABY ANGEL
  • Gallagher gets on the board after charging the net in typical Gallagher fashion and the Habs are up 5-3
  • Armia is dragged down and awarded a penalty shot but can’t get it by Binnington
  • Domi secures the lead with a sprawling shot and an empty netter!
  • Y’all need to start that ole
  • Habs win!

3) A great reintroduction

2) This is the player we all wanted to see

1) Much better singing to end the night than we had to open it
