UPDATE: Weber’s X-rays came back negative, and he’s cleared to travel with the team to Detroit.
Major break for the @CanadiensMTL after Claude Julien just announced that Shea Weber will travel with the team to Detroit. No fracture.— Renaud Lavoie (@renlavoietva) January 8, 2019
Shea Weber had a puck go off his stick and up into his face in the first period. While he was able to finish the opening frame, he did not come out from the dressing room after the first intermission.

It seems the injury was more serious than the defenceman let on during the game action. The Canadiens have had two players out with facial fractures this year, the most recent one being Noah Juulsen for a play similar to what Weber dealt with. Hopefully it won’t be a similar diagnosis for the Canadiens’ captain.
