2019 World Junior Hockey Championship schedule: December 28, 2018

Group A Preliminary Game

8 PM ET: Russia vs Czech Republic

After an outstanding debut, Alexander Romanov will have a tougher test against the Czech Republic and it will be interesting to see how he fares. The Russians as a whole had a tougher time than expected against Denmark, and will look to get things going against the Czech Republic. As for the Czechs, their best players came through against Switzerland in an overtime win, and they will look to challenge a Russian team that had issues finishing off Denmark. The game will be shown on TSN 1/3/4 and NHL Network in the USA.

Group B Preliminary Game

10:30 PM ET: United States vs Kazakhstan

After a scare against Slovakia, where they trailed after 40 minutes before winning with two third period goals, the United States will look to get off on the right foot against a Kazakhstan team that played better than expected against Finland. Montreal Canadiens prospect Cayden Primeau is expected to get his first start of the tournament in this one. Kazakhstan lost against Finland but can remain in games and frustrate opponents, especially if they get goaltending like they did from Demid Yeremeyev. The game will be on TSN 3/5 and RDS2 in Canada, NHL Network in the US.

All games shown on TSN will be streamed on TSN Go in Canada, but it requires a subscription to TSN.
