2019 IIHF World Championship schedule: May 20, 2019

Group A Preliminary Games

10:15 AM ET: France (0-0-1-5, 1 pt) vs Great Britain (0-0-0-6, 0 pts)

This game will decide who will continue to play in the top division while the loser will be relegated. It hasn’t been a great tournament for either of these teams, but they can erase that with a win on Monday.

The game will be shown on TSN 2 and RDS in Canada.

2:15 PM ET: Canada (4-0-0-1, 12 pts) vs Denmark (1-1-0-3, 5 pts)

Canada can assured itself a quarterfinal spot with a single point. But more than that, they need to position themselves for a better playoff matchup. Canada would like to avoid Russia or Sweden if at all possible. Denmark has avoided relegation, but they will not make it to the playoff round this year.

The game will be shown on TSN 1/3/4/5 and RDS in Canada and NHL Network in the USA.

Group B Preliminary Games

10:15 AM ET: Sweden (4-0-0-1, 12 pts) vs Latvia (2-0-0-3, 6 pts)

Sweden’s William Nylander has been going back and forth for the tournament scoring lead with Nikita Kucherov. Kucherov now has a one point advantage, but Sweden has an extra game to play. They are also battling for positioning in what should be a stacked quarterfinal field. They need to keep pace with the Czech Republic. Latvia has avoided relegation, but like Denmark are out of the playoff picture.

The game will be on TSN 1/4 and RDS in Canada and NHL Network in the USA.

2:15 PM ET: Austria (0-0-0-6, 0 pts) vs Italy (0-0-0-6, 0 pts)

Both of these teams lost to Norway, which means that it’s quite simple. The winner stays in the top division while the loser gets relegated. It is the final game for both teams in this tournament.

The game will be on TSN 2 in Canada and NHL Network in the USA.

All games shown on TSN will be streamed on TSN Direct in Canada, but it requires a subscription.
