2019 IIHF World Championship schedule: May 19, 2019

Group A Preliminary Games

10:15 AM ET: Germany (4-0-0-1, 12 pts) vs United States (3-1-0-1, 11 pts)

Germany is coming off of a tough 8-1 loss to Canada, while the United States is coming off of a 7-1 win against Denmark. An American win either against Germany or Canada will secure them a spot in the quarterfinal round.

The game will be shown on TSN 3 and RDS in Canada and NHL Network in the USA.

2:15 PM ET: France (2-0-0-3, 6 pts) vs Finland (4-0-1-0, 13 pts)

Finland is atop Group A as it stands, and should extend their lead in their game against France. It seems pretty clear that France’s fate will come down to their game against Great Britain on Monday.

The game will be shown on TSN 2 in Canada.

Group B Preliminary Games

10:15 AM ET: Austria (0-0-0-5, 0 pts) vs Czech Republic (4-0-0-1, 12 pts)

Group B is a group of haves and have nots. The Czech Republic is among three teams tied at 12 points with Russia leading the pack with 15. All that is left to play for is their positioning as all teams have secured a playoff spot. For Austria, their relegation fate will be decided on Monday when they face off against Italy. Both teams currently sit at 0 points.

The game will be on TSN 2 in Canada.

2:15 PM ET: Russia (5-0-0-0, 15 pts) vs Switzerland (4-0-0-1, 12 pts)

Switzerland is another team that is at that 12 point mark with the Czechs and Sweden. They also boast one of the top goaltending duos so far at the tournament in Reto Berra and Leonardo Genoni. The pair have allowed only six goals this tournament. The only team better? Russia, led by Andrei Vasilevskiy who have allowed three.

The game will be on TSN 3 and RDS2 in Canada and NHL Network in the USA.

All games shown on TSN will be streamed on TSN Direct in Canada, but it requires a subscription.
