Semifinals

9:15 AM ET: Sweden (1st, Pool A) vs United States (2nd, Pool B)

Sweden has been dominant all tournament, but struggled surprisingly against Latvia in their quarterfinal game. The game was tied or close for a majority of the game, and if they don't score goals, you can be sure the Americans will capitalize on their chances. It would be a significant disappointment for Sweden if they do not advance here, even though the Americans have had a really good tournament.

Jacob de la Rose is a player to watch. He had the third-most minutes among Swedish forwards in the quarterfinal win, ahead of Gustav Nyqvist and Filip Forsberg. He had over 15 minutes, and more than seven in the third period.

The game will be shown on TSN 1,3,4,5 and RDS in Canada and NHL Network in the USA”

1:15 PM ET: Canada (3rd, Pool B) vs Switzerland (4th, Pool A)

Leave it to Canada to go from quarterfinal underdog to semifinal favourite. After Ryan O'Reilly scored in overtime to put Canada over Russia, they caught a break when Switzerland upset Finland a few hours later.

Switzerland isn't to be taken lightly here as they have a ton of NHL talent and in a tournament like this, where it is not best-on-best, that is key. Adding Roman Josi and Kevin Fiala to a core that included Timo Meier, Sven Andrighetto and Nino Niederreiter makes this Swiss team very dangerous.

Canada can get caught napping and squander what was a big opportunity to play for another gold medal. They'll need to stay on their game.

The game will be shown on TSN 1,3,4,5 and RDS in Canada and NHL Network in the USA”

All games shown on TSN will be streamed on TSN Go in Canada, but it requires a subscription to TSN. NHL Network in the US will be showing games as well, but listings did not always confirm which games will be shown.
