The Capitals earned themselves a 2-0 lead early in the third period, but then watched as the Penguins scored three goals in under five minutes to snatch the victory away. Washington will need to play the full 60 minutes in this afternoon’s contest or face the prospect of yet another early-round disappointment after an exceptional regular-season showing.

Winnipeg Jets vs. Nashville Predators

Jets lead 1-0

How to watch

Puck Drop: 7:00 PM EDT / 4:00 PM PDT

The Predators were by far the better team in the first game, but the Jets were able to capitalize on the few chances they were able to get, while Connor Hellebuyck stood tall in the Jets’ crease, making 47 saves in a 4-1 win. With a similar effort, you’d have to expect the Preds to earn the win in Game Two, though the Jets will be determined to make things easier on themselves tonight.
