The bad news continues for the Montreal Canadiens. Victor Mete was injured in the first period, and Max Pacioretty was banged up in the second. Both will miss the rest of the game.
Max Pacioretty is injured (looks like lower body) and won't return. #tvasports

Pacioretty engaged an Islanders forward in an attempt to regain control of the puck on the power play. The two went down in the scuffle, with Pacioretty falling awkwardly and immediate;y appearing to be in distress. He remained on the bench for the remainder of the period, but didn’t play another shift.
The status of both players is not known at this time, or whether they will be able to go for a late-afternoon meeting with the Boston Bruins tomorrow. If not, the Canadiens may need to dip into the pool in Laval to flesh out the roster for tomorrow.
