Habs lines at Sunday’s fan practice: Paul Byron slots in at centre with Phillip Danault and Andrew Shaw absent

New, comments

All (healthy) hands were on deck in front of about 10,000 fans at the Bell Centre.

Vancouver Canucks v Montreal Canadiens

The Montreal Canadiens held a fan practice at the Bell Centre this morning, with about 10,000 in attendance.

With Phillip Danault already out after spending the night in the hospital being evaluated after taking a Zdeno Chara slapshot in the head, Andrew Shaw was also not on the ice, as he was taking a therapy day.

Down two of the available centreman, Paul Byron was practising between Max Pacioretty and Charles Hudon. It’s possible the team will need try that out in a game situation with the plan being to keep Alex Galchenyuk on Jonathan Drouin’s wing.

Victor Mete stays with David Schlemko on the third pairing, suggesting that he will be back in the lineup again on Monday after a great game last night.

Whether these lines will be intact when the puck is dropped for tomorrow night’s game versus the New York Islanders remains to be seen.
