It has been a group effort for the Canadians, who have no player in the top 10 of the tournament scoring race despite leading all teams with 21 goals. That was the only way a group with few standout forwards was going to have a chance at gold, and so far the team approach has been an effective one.

It’s that depth throughout the lineup that Switzerland coach Christian Wohlwend is most concerned about, seeing no areas in which his team has the upper hand. But there’s a reason why they play the games, and an upset performance from Switzerland in a one-game elimination playoff is not outside the realm of possibility.
