2018 World Junior Hockey Championship schedule: December 29, 2017

Group A Preliminary Game

3 PM ET: USA vs Canada

Montreal Canadiens prospects Ryan Poehling and Victor Mete go head to head outdoors at New Era Field. The Americans are coming off of a shocking loss to Slovakia, and I would be surprised if Jake Oettinger does not get the start in the outdoor game.  Joseph Woll has started the first two games. For Canada, a win would all but secure them top spot in Group A, but the USA will surely be coming out strong and it won’t be easy. Carter Hart will get the start for Canada. The game will be on TSN 1/3/4/5 and RDS in Canada and NHL Network in the United States.

Group B Preliminary Game

12 PM ET: Russia vs Belarus

Russia came back from a surprising loss to the Czech Republic with a win over Switzerland yesterday. Klim Kostin led the way for the Russians, who are trying to get back within striking distance of undefeated Sweden. Belarus has two more group games before likely heading to the relegation round. They probably deserved a better fate against Switzerland, but fell 3-2 after two late goals against in the third period. The game will be on TSN 3 and RDS in Canada. NHL Network in the US will show the game as well.

All games shown on TSN will be streamed on TSN Go in Canada, but it requires a subscription to TSN.
