Canadiens vs. Rangers Game Six: Game Thread, Rosters, Start Time, and Stream Link

Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more.

NHL: Stanley Cup Playoffs-New York Rangers at Montreal Canadiens Jean-Yves Ahern-USA TODAY Sports

It’s do or die for the Montreal Canadiens.

Following a promising start to the playoffs that saw the Habs take an early 2-1 series lead, they now find themselves on the brink, having lost games four and five.

All eyes are on captain Max Pacioretty, who’s yet to score a goal for the Canadiens, although it’s not due to a lack of effort. Pacioretty leads the team in scoring chances, and the entire NHL in shots. He’s getting quality chances, but as is the case with the rest of the team, he’s struggling to finish.

Things won’t be easy for Claude Julien’s team, as they’ll be without Andrew Shaw in this elimination game. The feisty forward is sidelined with an upper-body injury, which led to a shake-up in the lines during the morning skate. Michael McCarron is set to make his NHL playoff debut, in lieu of veteran Torrey Mitchell. Brandon Davidson will also re-enter the series, taking Nathan Beaulieu’s spot on the blue line.

Marc Bergevin will be watching the game with a steadfastly clenched buttock, as his various experience-laden trade acquisitions are yet to make much of an impact in the series. Considering the massive changes he made over the course of the calendar year, a first-round exit would be incredibly disappointing.

Fortunately, Habs fans are yet to see the best from their team, and with a healthy Vezina finalist guarding their net, it’s certainly within the realm of possible that they could go on to win two straight against the Rangers.
