The Canadiens’ longest streak of the season seems like a century ago at this point. Back in the ancient days of October, 2016, the Canadiens won their eight game in a row. After that game, the Canadiens would go on a run of 22-21-7 before Claude Julien was brought on board to re-calibrate this team to the level they were playing at during those October days so long ago.

Tonight, the Canadiens will be going for their seventh win in a row, which, will be a much-needed two points with the Atlantic Division lead being contested with hotly with the Ottawa Senators, who are four points back and having two games at hand.

Although the Canadiens will still be without the services of Alex Radulov and Tomas Plekanec, they are coming off another strong, albeit tightly played, performance, and the character depth on this team will get another chance to show their meddle in meaningful game. Brandon Davidson will come out of the lineup to make room for Alexei Emelin’s return, while Brian Flynn will be a gametime decision after sustaining an upper body injury early in Tuesday’s win in Vancouver.

The Flames have started to make a push of their own after falling out of a playoff position until their recent 8-1-1 surge that has them two points back from second place in the Pacific Division and currently holding onto the second-last wildcard spot with a five-point cushion over the St. Louis Blues.

As last minute change will see Carey Price miss the game tonight due to a virus, meaning Al Montoya will take his place. There’s no word whether or not Youppi! will dress as the backup.

Puck Drop is 9:00 PM EST / 6:00 PM PST
