Canadiens vs. Canucks: Game thread, rosters, lines, and how to watch

New, comments

The Habs look to stay sharp as they begin their western Canadian road trip.

The Canadiens are confident as they head into Vancouver, especially following their previous game, which was their most decisive victory in over a month. In addition, the Habs are currently riding a five game-winning streak. They face a Canucks team that seems to have finally accepted a full franchise rebuild, moving forward with Bo Horvat as their future centerpiece.

There will be some lineup changes, as Tomas Plekanec joins Alexander Radulov on the team injury list. Consequently, Brian Flynn joins back into the lineup as the fourth right wing, while Torrey Mitchell takes the third line centre spot.

Brandon Davidson will make his Canadiens debut on defence, alongside another former Oiler, Jeff Petry. Alexei Emelin's recent struggles has him on the outside looking in, and head coach Julien hopes that watching some hockey from up high will do him some good.

Despite winning the season's earlier match up 3-0, for a 9-0-1 record to start the season, the Canadiens allowed 42 shots to reach Carey Price during that game. There is the risk that they fall into the same trap in this game, as it is understandable for a team to let its guard down going against weaker competition, especially after a big winning streak.
