Canadiens vs. Stars: Game thread, rosters, lines and how to watch

The other Benn is in town, as the Habs face Dallas

NHL: Montreal Canadiens at Dallas Stars Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

The Montreal Canadiens are hoping to end their season on a high note, seeing as they’re facing a relatively easy strength of schedule compared to their divisional foes.

Up next is the Dallas Stars, who sit 11th in the Western Conference, with a 31-33-11 record. They’re predictably among the worst teams in the league in terms of goals against, although it’s worth noting that they’ve won their last two games.

Dallas’ visit means defender Greg Pateryn returns to his former home rink, and he’s doing so during an uptick in his play. After initially being a healthy scratch upon his arrival in Dallas, Pateryn has picked up his play of late, producing a very respectable 51 CF%.

The other story line to watch is the showdown between Jordie and Jamie Benn, although if we’re being honest, it’s probably not in the best interest of the Habs to see the brothers on the ice at the same time.

Carey Price gets the start, although originally the Canadiens planned to use Al Montoya. Unfortunately an injury during practice this morning will keep Montoya on the sidelines, with ECHL goaltender Zachary Fucale serving as Price’s backup.

Puck Drop is 7:30 PM EST / 4:30 PM PST
