Canadiens vs. Hurricanes: Game thread, rosters, lines and how to watch

Can the Habs overcome one of the NHL’s hottest teams?

A quick look at this part of the schedule had me relieved. After everything the Canadiens have been through this season, and in particular, this last stretch, a couple of games against non-playoff teams seemed like a welcome break.

Of course, that is the exact trap the Habs did not want to fall into: thinking they have an easy week in front of them. Coming out with just the overtime loss against the Red Wings (who had played the night before) on Tuesday night, the Canadiens will be looking for a much stronger performance tonight against another team that will be calling it a season in a couple of weeks.

The Carolina Hurricanes come into tonight’s game one of the hottest teams in the league. (6-1-3).

The Canadiens have made a few adjustments they’ll get to test against an opponent who are much better at the moment than their position in the standings indicates. Alex Galchenyuk has been moved to the wing, and will be centered by Andrew Shaw while Phillip Danault will once again center the first line. Nathan Beaulieu will be a healthy scratch, making room for Brandon Davidson to return to the lineup.

Puck Drop is 7:30 PM EST / 4:30 PM PST
