Canadiens lines at practice, October 17: Morrow could make Habs debut tonight

He skates in Jordie Benn’s spot

NHL: Preseason-Toronto Maple Leafs at Montreal Canadiens Jean-Yves Ahern-USA TODAY Sports

If Jordie Benn thought David Schlemko’s setback was a reprieve to keep his spot in the lineup, it doesn’t appear to be the case.

Newcomer Joe Morrow skated next to Brandon Davidson at the morning skate today in San Jose. It will be Morrow’s first game with the Montreal Canadiens, and his first NHL game since January 22 when he was a member of the Boston Bruins. He has been a healthy scratch for the first five games of the season.

Benn struggled lately, and was moved from the right side to the left side before Saturday’s game against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Davidson, for his part, has played well after taking Mark Streit’s spot in the lineup.

Up front, no changes were made.

Former Shark Torrey Mitchell will rejoin the lineup in place of Jacob de la Rose.

Carey Price will start in goal tonight, and I would expect Al Montoya to get his first start of the season tomorrow in Los Angeles.
