Eight teams are left standing in the 2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Tonight, four teams will be trying to get an early 1-0 edge, and move that much closer to round three.
St. Louis Blues (C3) vs. Nashville Predators (WC2)
After shocking the Chicago Blackhawks with a four-game sweep in the first round, the final seed in the Western Conference will look to take down the only other Central Division team left standing.
The St. Louis Blues took out a Minnesota Wild team that had faded significantly in the final third of the season, and claim home-ice advantage in round two. They’ll have to find a way to overcome the shutdown game that allowed the Predators to hold the powerhouse Blackhawks to just three goals in the opening series.

Anaheim Ducks (P1) vs. Edmonton Oilers (P2)
The Edmonton Oilers got help from various parties in the first-round to get them past the San Jose Sharks. Cam Talbot was strong in net, Zack Kassian played at a new level to provide some timely offence, and captain Connor McDavid used his speed and skill to lead his side to the next round.
Their reward is a matchup with the team that eked past them for the top seed in the Pacific Division, claiming the right to start this particular series on home ice. The Ducks also had significant contributions from a young player to get them out of the first round, as rookie defenceman Shea Theodore posted six points against the Calgary Flames in a four-game series.
