2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs: Open thread and how to watch Wednesday’s games

Eight teams are left standing in the 2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Tonight, four teams will be trying to get an early 1-0 edge, and move that much closer to round three.

St. Louis Blues (C3) vs. Nashville Predators (WC2)

Puck Drop is 8:00 PM EDT / 5:00 PM PDT

Washington Capitals (M1) vs. Toronto Maple Leafs (WC2)

The tightest series of the first round has surprisingly been the one between the Presidents Trophy champion and a team that squeaked into the playoffs in the final days of the regular season. The Toronto Maple Leafs have gone toe-to-toe with what looked like a much stronger adversary when the bracket was solidified, and yet the majority of games in the series have been decided in overtime.

Each team has claimed two extra-time victories, with a one-goal regulation win by the Capitals the difference in the series. If the Leafs can make it a sixth straight one-goal decision tonight, they’ll be in good shape to force a seventh game in DC on Tuesday.

Puck Drop is 7:00 PM EDT / 4:00 PM PDT
