2017 Memorial Cup: Windsor vs. Seattle open thread — Mikhail Sergachev and host Spitfires aim for 2-0 start

After recording two assists in 3-2 win on the opening day, the Habs’ top prospect will hope to contribute on the scoresheet once again.

Windsor Spitfires vs. Seattle Thunderbirds

Each of the four teams now has one game under its belt at the 2017 Memorial Cup. Windsor came away with a 3-2 victory despite a late charge from the QMJHL’s best team, the Saint John Sea Dogs, while Seattle couldn’t quite match the offence of the OHL powerhouse Erie Otters in last night’s contest.

As a result, the Thunderbirds will desperately be trying for a win over what should be the weakest team in the tournament, as Windsor is the only team not to win a single playoff round this spring.

The hosts didn’t look like a weak squad in their opener, however, and should be even better after loosening up after a six-week absence in their previous outing. They also have the advantage of an additional day of rest from that first game in a long while over a team that just played last night.

Prospects: Mikhail Sergachev (D-WSR), Jeremiah Addison (F-WSR)

Game starts at 7:00 PM EDT / 4:00 PM PDT
