According to Eric Engels, David Perron is very keen to sign with the Montreal Canadiens. The 28-year-old right-shooting left winger had a bit of an off year last year, but still managed to put up 36 points with two different teams, and can usually be counted on to put up 40 points in a given season.
As I mentioned 2 days ago, Perron a strong possibility in MTL. Not sure what opposition is to this. 332/570gms is nothing to scoff at.

Whether Perron would play his regular left-wing role, or shift to the right to shore up that area would be an important factor in the decision to sign him, but one that likely wouldn't become known until training camp later this summer.
He is a better offensive option than Dale Weise would be for the team, and has the ability to bounce back from a disappointing 2015-16 by his standards. It would be interesting to see what other moves, if any, Bergevin has in store if Perron becomes a Hab today.
