Andrighetto scores, named player of the game for Switzerland against Latvia

The young Canadiens forward is making his presence felt at the World Championship.

It comes as no surprise that Sven Andrighetto, who enjoyed a pretty good season with the Montreal Canadiens this past season, is one of the more relied upon players for Switzerland at the World Championship. Check out this sneaky snipe to put his country ahead in their game against Latvia, taken from the top of the faceoff circle.

It's great to see him having some success with his National team, because it was a very tough year in Montreal, and he was thrust into a more expansive role than usual due to all of the injuries. Thanks to his efforts against Latvia, he was also named the player of the game.

This is one of several players likely to push for a roster spot with the Canadiens come next season, and may even be a frontrunner given how he played last year.
