There has been trade talk surrounding P.K. Subban lately, and there has been this reclusive rumour about a rift between him and his captain for the better part of the season as well. After the season-ending win against the Lightning, Max Pacioretty shut all of that down in one fell swoop.

Simple things like Pacioretty looking very serious while Subban was trying to pump up the dressing room were pointed to by some as evidence of a problem. It got to a point where an instagram picture of them hugging may not have been enough to completely quell the rumours.
Now, on the off chance that there was a rift between Pacioretty and Subban, he probably wouldn't take a parting shot at a teammate after the last game of the year. That said, it just felt like a fabrication all year, and to hear Pacioretty say what he did instills confidence that the two are on great terms.
And that is a good thing, because if the Canadiens are to compete for a championship, they'll likely need both of these players.
