Canadiens vs. Flames Game Thread, roster, lines, and how to watch

The Habs and Flames are among eight teams with a zero percent chance of making the playoffs.

The Habs took the short drive up Autoroute 40 last night back to Montreal with a lot to think about. After an embarrassing 5-0 loss at the hands of a team that itself has barely a shot at making it to the post-season, the Habs were officially out of the running , with their probability of making it at zero percent with their 33rd loss of the season.

The Habs joined a group of seven other teams with zero percent odds of making it, with only one team mathematically out at this point (the Toronto Maple Leafs). They face one of the seven other teams on this list, the Calgary Flames, who are one of five Canadian teams projected as definite no-shows in this year's post-season.

The Flames had been on a 3-1-0 run, but then lost at home against the Avalanche on Friday, a costly stumble that reduced their odds to zero. There's hope for the future for with the likes of Johnny Gaudreau leading the way with 70 points and 26 goals for his team. If the Flames can get their act together defensively and between the pipes, they can get right back on track to the team that made waves heading into last season's playoffs.

For the Habs, injuries continue with Victor Bartley now out. The Canadiens recalled Joel Hanley from St. John's on an emergency call up. The Habs have ten eleven players listed as injured heading into tonight's game.

Lineup notes: Joel Hanley will play his first NHL game tonight in place of Victor Bartley; Mike Condon starts after Ben Scrivens gave up five goals on 44 shots last night in Ottawa. Update: Sven Andrighetto is nursing an upper body injury after taking a couple of big hits from Dion Phaneuf.

The puck drops at 7:00 PM EDT.
