Canadiens vs. Wild third period thread

The Habs are down 3-1 heading into the third period.

Jean-Yves Ahern-USA TODAY Sports

The second period began much like the first period, with neither team able to get very much going. The Habs led 2-0 in second period shots by the five minute mark of the second. The Wild finally got a shot on net 6:51 into the period.

The Wild almost struck to go up 3-1, but Mike Condon made a cross-crease save on a one timer from Jordan Schroeder.

The Wild went on the powerplay on the next whistle, with Michael McCarron sent off for hooking. With very little time left on the powerplay, the Wild set up, took a shot from the point that Condon couldn't cover with his glove and came loose at the side of the net to allow Mikael Granlund to put home his second goal of the game.

The Canadiens trail 3-1 heading into the third period, and with a loss tonight, their playoff chances will dip below 1.5%.
