IceCaps sign Ranger to a PTO, recall Bozon and Thrower from Brampton

Some roster news out of the AHL this evening

St. John's IceCaps

The St. John's IceCaps announced the signing of Alexandre Ranger to a 25 game PTO contract today. The 5'9'' winger has spent the majority of the year with the ECHL's Norfolk Admirals, where he has 11 goals and 23 points in his rookie season.

The team also recalled forward Tim Bozon, and defenseman Dalton Thrower from the Brampton Beast to shore up their depth. In 15 games this year with the Beast, Bozon has three goals and six assists, whereas Thrower has two assists in eight games.

In addition the team has also recalled Angelo Miceli and Brandon McNally. Miceli has seven goals and 12 assists with the Beast and McNally has just a single assist in seven games.

With Michael Bournival, Markus Eisenschmid, Lucas Lessio and Daniel Carr nursing injuries, the IceCaps needed the influx of bodies going into a crucial weekend series against Utica. Still reeling from a brutal January, St. John's will need to collect a few wins this weekend to keep pace in the AHL's North Division.

The IceCaps will be wearing special commemorative jerseys this weekend, in honour of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment.
