Tom Gilbert has sustained a lower-body injury and will not return for the third period

In the second period of the game versus the Philadelphia Flyers, Tom Gilbert was injured blocking a shot, and left the bench before the end of the period.  He was evaluated in the intermission, and ruled out of the remainder of the contest.

A pending unrestricted free agent at the end of the season, Gilbert is one of the candidates to be moved out for future assets before the trade deadline on February 29.

Gilbert has one goal and one assist through 45 games, and has a plus-four goal differential.
