David Desharnais suffers a broken foot, will miss 3 weeks

The injuries keep piling up for the Canadiens.

Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

The Habs have announced that centre David Desharnais will miss at least three weeks of action due to a broken foot. Desharnais was hit by a Tom Gilbert shot on February 15th versus the Coyotes.

It's another bad break for the Habs, who have had terrible luck with injuries this season.

On the bright side, it opens up the possibility of giving an extended audition to a player like Charles Hudon, who by all accounts seems to be ready for the NHL.

With Desharnais out of the lineup for the foreseeable future, it also gives the Habs a perfect opportunity to see what Lars Eller can do on the top trio.
