First off, defender Jeff Petry was added to the injured reserve, following a lower-body injury which kept him out of action versus the Tampa Bay Lightning. There's no word on his recovery timeline. Odds are Greg Pateryn will slot into the lineup during his absence.
The good news is that both Paul Byron and Lucas Lessio appear to be nearing a return.

On an encouraging note, it appears as if Michel Therrien is ready to trust Sven Andrighetto in a scoring role, which is really the only way to use a player with his skill.
On the defensive side of things, P.K. Subban practiced with Andrei Markov, Mark Barberio was alongside Tom Gilbert, and Alexei Emelin was practicing with Greg Pateryn.
Even though he missed practice, Nathan Beaulieu will fly with the team to Buffalo.
