The World Junior Hockey Championships have become a holiday tradition in Canada unlike any other, and this year the tournament will be held in Montreal and Toronto.
Canada’s World Junior selection camp got underway yesterday with practices and will continue with three games starting tonight against the U Sport (formerly CIS) All-Stars. Those two teams will play again tomorrow afternoon, and then Canada plays the Czech Republic on Wednesday night.
All games will be held at the Centre d’Excellence Sport Rousseau in Boisbriand.
There are three Montreal Canadiens prospects in camp, although only two will play tonight. Noah Juulsen, who is all but a lock on Team Canada will sit this one out along with Jake Bean.
Victor Mete and Michael McNiven will both play. Mete is one of the several left-handed defencemen who will be tested on the right side, where he plays for London in the Ontario Hockey League.
Connor Ingram is the third Canadian goaltender at camp and he will play tonight
for the U Sports team
