Usually, the 10 Takeaways post is made up of in-depth observations on the play of the Canadiens in the previous game. But in the immortal words of the Mark McGwire: “Do you want to know the terrifying truth, or do you want to see me sock a few dingers?“

-0: Brian Flynn finally gets his first goal of the season.

-0: Max Pacioretty doubled the lead before the first TV timeout.

-0: Two minutes later, Phillip Danault’s effort set up Artturi Lehkonen’s fifth.

-0: Just one minute after that, the captain pushed the lead to four.

-0: Paul Byron creates his own breakaway, and the rout is on.

-0: Even Flynn’s pass ended up being a goal.

-1: Cue the comeback?

-1: Nope.

-1: Alexander Radulov is only interested in making other people happy.

-1: The Habs get 3.3 seconds of power-play time. Jeff Petry only needs 3.2.

-1: Pacioretty’s fourth goal is a gift, and the Bell Centre scoreboard reads ‘10’ for the first time.
