The Hurricanes are one of the hottest teams in the league right now, currently on a five game winning streak and with a record of 6-2-1 for the month of November.
The Canadiens on the other hand, have been struggling this month, winners of just one of their past five games. While the Habs have regressed a little in the month of November after yet another incredible start to the season, Michel Therrien has expressed that he’s happy with the way his team has played, and that he’s confident in his team’s ability to get back into the win column with more consistency.
If that’s to happen, the Canadiens’ secondary scoring will need to pick up, with Tomas Plekanec relegated to just one goal and four assists in the 20 games the Habs have played so far this season. Brendan Gallagher, who is starting to look more frustrated with each game, hasn’t scored since October 24, a span of 14 games, after starting the season with at least a point in six of his first seven games (4G, 3A).
Tonight will see the season debut of Mark Barberio who joined the team yesterday after Nathan Beaulieu was injured in Tuesday’s loss to the Senators. He’ll play alongside Greg Pateryn, who draws into the lineup in place of Joel Hanley who was sent back to St. John’s yesterday.
Puck Drop is 7:30 PM EST / 4:30 PM PST
