Canadiens vs. Senators: Game thread, roster, lines, and how to watch

New, comments

The Habs host a divisional rival for the second game in a row.

NHL: Montreal Canadiens at Ottawa Senators Marc DesRosiers-USA TODAY Sports

The Habs welcome the Sens for a showdown at the Bell Center tonight.

Montreal is coming off of a bounce back win against the Leafs on Saturday, snapping their loosing streak and keeping that sinking feeling of panic at bay. Alexander Radulov returned to the lineup to the tune of two points, both assists, which brings his assist total to 13 on the season. Shea Weber also contributed with a pair of assists on his own. He now leads Canadiens defensemen in points with 15 and his seven goal tally is tied with Alex Galchenyuk and Paul Byron for the most on the team. Charles Hudon is expected to sit out tonight’s game, as Daniel Carr returns to the lineup.

Meanwhile the Senators are coming off a 4-1 loss to the Florida Panthers on Saturday. They have lost two in a row, and have been struggling to score recently with only 1.5 goals per game in their last four meetings. All eyes will be pointed to the Sens’ forward trios seeing as only Kyle Turris (8) and Ryan Dzingel (5) have scored more than three goals so far this season. There is good news for the Senators’ forward group though, as Matt Hoffman is drawing back into the lineup tonight.

One schedule note tonight: RDS will be carrying the MLS game between the Impact and Toronto FC, which means the Habs game will be shown on RDS 2.
