Victor Bartley reassigned to the St.John's IceCaps

The defenceman will join the team on their current road trip

Victor Bartley, the Habs latest acquisition, has taken the route of the St. John's IceCaps.

Despite being recalled from the AHL by the Montreal Canadiens when he was initially acquired along with John Scott for defenceman Jarred Tinordi, the defenceman did not play any games with the Habs. He doesn't need to clear waivers prior to the assignment.

Bartley only played one game in the NHL this season getting no points, and 14 games in the AHL with the Milwaukee Admirals, earning one assist.

He will join a St. John's IceCaps team that is already deep on defence, so it will be interesting to watch where he fits into their lineup. The IceCaps play on Wednesday night in Bridgeport, and then two games in Albany on Friday and Saturday.

The silver lining in all of this is that it seems like Mark Barberio has solidified his position in the Habs lineup.
