The Montreal Canadiens have traded Jarred Tinordi to the Arizona Coyotes in exchange for John Scott and Stefan Elliott.
ARI-MTL trade call is in works. Tinordi to ARI and return expected to be John Scott and Stefan Elliott.

It's an interesting trade to say the least. Essentially the Habs traded Tinordi at his lowest possible value, and the return for the former first-round pick could be seen as underwhelming. On the other hand, Tinordi clearly wasn't in Montreal's plans going forward, so you could argue that they at least received some sort of assets in return.
Both Elliott and Scott have gone through waivers this year. You have to give credit to the Coyotes for finding a somewhat reasonable return on two players that no one claimed on waivers.
Interestingly, the Habs traded up to pick Tinordi, and the team they trade with? You guessed it, the Coyotes.
We'll have more on this deal shortly, although it seems like Elliott won't be in town for very long.
Doesn't sound like Stefan Elliott will be in MTL long. Flipped already?
