The Montreal Canadiens have announced that Daniel Carr and Sven Andrighetto have been sent back to the American Hockey League's St. John's IceCaps, paving the way for a return to health from Dale Weise - and possibly more.

Weise, who was injured in the Winter Classic on New Year's Day with an upper-body injury, was originally supposed to miss 2-3 weeks and we are right at the early part of that estimate.
Weise skated with the team during the morning skate before their game with the Chicago Blackhawks and appears to be ready to go.
Carr and Andrighetto both had ups and downs but were two of the only players to be scoring during the Canadiens dismal December.
Both have played 17 games in the NHL this season, Carr has five goals and two assists while Andrighetto has four goals and one assist. Both will return to the IceCaps who benefit from the Canadiens getting healthy in time for the playoff push.
The IceCaps are currently in a playoff position but there are four teams within three points for the final two guaranteed spots so any help they can get would be beneficial.
This will leave the Canadiens with 12 healthy forwards - even with Weise - so there may be a call up coming after 5 p.m. Brandon McNally was also sent from St. John's to Brampton, which means that the IceCaps would have one forward more than they started the day with.
