2016 World Cup: Team Canada vs Team USA game thread, schedule, lines, and how to watch
After facing each other twice last week, the continental rivals meet yet again, but this time it matters.
Canada started its quest for the 2016 World Cup in a dominant fashion, earning a 6-0 win over the Czech Republic in the process. Carey Price was perfect in his first meaningful start since his injury, stopping all 27 shots sent his way.

This will be the third time these two teams face each other, with each team managing to beat the other during the pre-tournament games. The USA took game one by a score of 4-2, whereas Canada earned a 5-2 win in the rematch.
This game will feature three members of the Montreal Canadiens. Price is slated to get the start for Canada, and will be protected by Shea Weber on defence. On the American side of things, Max Pacioretty will have a limited roll, having been relegated to the fourth line as coach John Tortorella tries to figure out how to get his roster to produce goals.
As an aside, since 2011 Pacioretty has scored more goals than every American player in the NHL not named Joe Pavelski.
It’s also worth noting that Patrick Kane has been practicing alongside the elite point factory known as Justin Abdelkader. Dustin Byfuglien, one of the USA’s best defenceman, was left off the roster during the USA’s first game.
Frankly, no one knows why the Americans are struggling. It remains a mystery.
Tortorella says Abdelkader deserves to move up the lineup, adds that he may move Abdelkader around. Plays style of game US wants.

However they’ll have to figure it out sooner rather than later. Having been shutout by Team Europe in their opening game, the USA will need to beat Canada if they want to have any chance to qualify for the knockout round. A roster shakeup may help.
The puck drops at 8:00 PM EDT, at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto.
