It was a rather easy road to the semifinal for Canada, beating the Czech Republic, the USA, and Team Europe in route to a perfect 3-0 round robin record and a first place finish in their group. Carey Price started the first two games, sporting a .968 save percentage and allowing only two goals on the 63 shots he faced.

Team Russia faced a more tumultuous journey than their counterparts, especially following a 2-1 loss to Sweden in their opening game of the round robin. They rebounded quickly by beating Team North America 4-3, and earned a berth into the semifinal with a convincing 3-0 win versus Finland. Russia finished 2nd in their group, behind Sweden.
This isn’t the first time these two countries will meet at this tournament, as the teams met in pre-tournament action, which resulted in an exciting 3-2 overtime win for Canada.
The puck drops at 7:00 PM EDT, at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto.
