Welcoming three new contributors to the website

We have another batch of writers to introduce today.

Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

As you know, we spent the summer searching for contributors at Eyes on the Prize, and it's now time to announce the second group of writers joining the site.

The goal next season is to provide extensive coverage of all things Habs, which means improved coverage of the ECHL and AHL affiliates, reports on European prospects, highlight videos, and more.

We introduced five new writers last weekend, and here are three more. I asked the new writers to submit a small introduction.

David Collins: links, game previews, and columns

Hey everyone! I'm Dave, and first and foremost I want to say how excited I am to be joining the EOTP team this season! I am by no means the most experienced writer, but it's always been a passion of mine and, until the very last minute, was going to be something I pursued at the University level.

Because of that, it's a great honour to be coming on board here and getting the chance to cover the team we all love - frustrated as they may sometimes make us!

It's always a bit awkward talking about yourself, I think, and really there isn't a whole heck of a lot to say. I'm an accounting student, I've never played hockey, and on three separate occasions I've failed to learn how to play the guitar. I've been a longtime Habs fan, although they last won the Cup the year before I was born so you can blame the last two decades on me if you'd like - I can shoulder it. Here at EOTP I'll mostly be helping out with game day previews as we all wind up for puck-drop, and you may also see some (hopefully) interesting columns on the side! I'm very much looking forward to meeting everyone and discussing the coming season! Go Habs Go!

Andrea Rowe, St. John's IceCaps correspondent

My excitement for hockey exploded when I discovered the masked magician, Carey Price, at the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics. Coincidentally, he's the goalie for the Montreal Canadiens, which is my husband's favourite team, so luckily I have someone to high-five and do my shut-out dance for!

I am a correspondent for the farm team, the St. John's Ice Caps. Obviously I've always cheered on my home team but I'm uber-excited for this season since we are now affiliated with the Habs.

Jon Lioumbas, columnist

A Montreal native of greek descent, I was born and bred to be a Habs fan. I watched the likes of Saku Koivu, Alex Kovalev, and Jose Theodore as they were some of the biggest names I knew and watched growing up. I have never actually seen (or been alive for) a Montreal Canadiens Stanley Cup win. My fandom eventually led me to be interested in sports journalism and by the time I was in CEGEP Vanier College, I joined both the newspaper and radio station there as my first actual experience.

From there I worked my way up to being part of the executive staff of the newspaper and one of the lead radio hosts for the radio station as well, and after two years of writing there I have graduated and moved on to study at McGill University in Physical Education. I am thrilled to be a part of this team and can't wait to be able to integrate my experiences as both fan and journalist into writing for this website.

We still have two more contributors to introduce, but in the meantime please join me in giving the new writers a warm welcome to the website!
