Canadiens vs Lightning Game Three third period thread

The Habs are pushing the envelope but are still down 1-0 heading into the 3rd period.

The Canadiens didn't convert on the remaining powerplay time to begin the 2nd period, but they did manage to succeed at setting up P.K. Subban for a shot from the point which he slapped over the net. The Habs tried to build an attack and came close at putting the puck over the goal line with Brendan Gallagher in close, but he was beaten to the puck by Jason Garrison who cleared the crease of the puck and of Brendan Gallagher.

The Canadiens kept pressing, holding Tampa Bay off the shot clock until there was 4:05 left in the 2nd period, but hitting another goal post, and battling for inches and stick position in front of the net and not coming out with the win kept the Habs off the scoreboard.

The Canadiens did everything they could to score in the 2nd period, and held Tampa Bay to 2 shots on Carey Price as the Bolts have been falling back to protect their lead. In the regular season, a performance like tonight's could yield a silver lining, but in the playoffs it doesn't matter what you're doing when you can't score. In fact, when you're having this much trouble scoring, sane thinking would suggest you try something new... but the Habs have their plan and are sticking to it, and have a big challenge in front of them in the 3rd period of breaking the seal on Ben Bishop's shutout bid.
