Canadiens vs Panthers second period thread

The Habs lead 1-0, but may have lost Max Pacioretty.

The top line of Max Pacioretty, David Desharnais and Devante Smith-Pelly played for a total of about 2 minutes before Max Pacioretty was sent sprawling awkardly into the boards, hitting the back of his head. Pacioretty would hobble off the ice with assistance on his way to the dressing room. Right off the ensuing powerplay draw, Brendan Gallagher would draw a high-sticking penalty to give the Habs a 2-man advantage. Almost immediately the Habs scored, with Tomas Plekanec scoring his 200th career goal. (Congrats Tomas!)

Max Parioretty is done for the night.

The Habs dominated the period, holding a 61.76 CF% on the strength of 3 first period powerplays. 5 v 5, the Habs were also the dominant side holding the edge 15.591 - 9.395 5 v 5 Score-Adjusted Corsi.

This is Michel Therrien's 400th game as the Head Coach of the Montreal Canadiens. He has coached the 5th most amount of games in Habs' history, behind Cecil Hart (418) and Pat Burns (318) with a record of 199-141-22-37, and with three games left in the season is currently at the helm of the 8th winningest regular season in Habs' history with 47 wins.
