Dustin Tokarski was beat on the 8th shot attempt of the second period by the Devils, only 4:37 in, on a tip-in from Reid Boucher to tie the game 2-2. The Devils would jump to a 22-14 CF advantage by the midway point in the game, stringing together 7 shot attempts in 1:32 to break through on the tying goal.
Ex-Hab fan favourite Scott Gomez would factor into the game. He didn't take too kindly to a hit from Alexei Emelin, who continues to improve with each game since returning from injury. Emelin's hit woke up Gomez's legendary sneakiness, as he tried to get away with a quick, nasty elbow to Emelin's face. Gomez was given a five-minute major and a game misconduct. To his credit, it will be the first time Scott Gomez appears on the Sportscenter highlights in a very long time.
