Canadiens vs Senators third period thread

The Habs have the lead, 2-1.

The Habs were persistent to begin the 2nd period, going up 5-1 on shot attempts leading to an earned powerplay when Clarke MacArthur boarded Brian Flynn. The Habs would maintain control in the Senators' zone for most of the powerplay, and fired off 6 shot attempts including Max Pacioretty's skillful shot between Andrew Hammond's legs to tie the game 1-1.

The Habs gained life from the goal, as they controlled the play and drew another penalty as David Desharnais almost broke through the Senators' defense. The Habs moved the puck expertly on the powerplay, but Devante Smith-Pelly couldn't squeeze the shot through Andrew Hammond's five-hole. Minutes later, P.K. Subban would take a pass from Smith-Pelly off the boards and shred a 140 km/h one-timer past Hammond to give the Habs a 2-1.

Mark Stone leads all Senators forwards in ice-time with 13:50 played, which is more than any single Habs' player except for Andrei Markov (15:32).
